slowing down

4 weeks til we meet our son! we have been going non-stop these past few weeks, but finally as of today, things are slowing down. now slowing down in the church household would still be considered busy by most...but i am thankful for the break.

we have 3 more weeks of childbirth class, we have a thursday night summer bible study with the college group and i have no more jewelry shows until July 21.

and that is about it for scheduled things

it is hard for me to be still, but know i need the rest b/c i have quite the physical challenge ahead of me...

people ask me all the time..."aren't you scared [of delivery]" and my response is, "i just don't think about it too much b/c i HAVE to do it...ha"!

but when i really do think about it, the Lord pours out His love and reassurance over me. He will give me the strength, endurance and comfort to not only have the child but to also raise him!

as for "Nesting" i dont think that has really kicked in for me, but instead for Wes. we really have gotten a lot done in the house thanks to his motivation. the nursery is coming along. i think all we have left to do is hang stuff on the walls and wash the bedding...it is so cute!

this week i will be packing for the hospital, selecting a pediatrician, washing baby clothes and shopping for fun things like...nursing bras!!! reality is sinking in! pray for me...ahhhhhh!

Motherhood

well the countdown is on... 6 weeks until my life is forever changed! i have a whole new role to learn, mother! and what a big role that is. it is kind of overwhelming.

we had a wonderful weekend celebrating mother's day with my mom and mimi. i was also given gifts and cards from my family! i am always up for another day of celebration! woo-hoo!

let me give a shout out to my mother who i think has done a pretty darn good job in raising 4 children!

my mom is one of the most selfless people you will ever meet. she is constantly thinking of others! she pays attention to the little things and remembers the details. many times she sees a need and meets it before you realize you have it!

while growing up, she taught me so much about the Lord and how to trust Him with my life. she is not afraid to step out in faith and through that we have seen the Lord do amazing things.

she definitely fits the Proverbs 31 woman description...some of the verses that remind me specifically of her from the 31st chapter are:
-Her husband has full confidence in her
and lacks nothing of value.
-She brings him good, not harm,
all the days of her life.
-She selects wool and flax
and works with eager hands
-She considers a field and buys it;
out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.
-She sets about her work vigorously;
her arms are strong for her tasks.
-She sees that her trading is profitable,
and her lamp does not go out at night.
-She opens her arms to the poor
and extends her hands to the needy.
-Her husband is respected at the city gate,
where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.
-She makes linen garments and sells them,
and supplies the merchants with sashes.
-She is clothed with strength and dignity;
she can laugh at the days to come.
-She speaks with wisdom,
and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
-She watches over the affairs of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.
-Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:

So I have big shoes to fill! I am thankful the Lord gave me wonderful parents! I am so excited to have such a rich heritage to pass on to my children.
